A very challenging tour that offers all the fascinations of biking! Highly varied, with a super descent through the Gaistal valley. A perfect biker´s marathon!

We ride mainly on gravel, but also on tarmac, trails and briefly on mountain paths. The tour starts directly in front of the Hotel Ehrwalderhof. We head to the ski stadium and continue on cycle paths south-westwards to Grainau and the Christlhütte. The ride to the Eibsee (973m) is very picturesque. After cycling around the lake, we begin the ascent to the Eibseeblick, where yo´ll need to push your bike along a short section of path. We then ride downhill via the Hochthörlehütte (1459m) to Ehrwald.

A gravel road leads to the Ehrwalder Alm (1502m; a cable car ascent is also possible), from here a short climb before a gentle downhill ride through the Gaistal begins. You´ll ride for almost 15 kilometres between the Wetterstein ridge and the Mieminger chain to Leutasch on a tarmac road. Just before Mittenwald, turn left and cycle along the Ferchensee lake to Schloss Elmau. After another ascent of around 300 metres, we climb the Wamberg before descending directly to the starting point of the tour.

Our tips for refreshments: Eibsee-Hotel (973m), Hochthörlehütte (1459m), Gasthof Alpenglühn, inns in Ehrwald, Ehrwalder Alm (1502m), Leutasch (1200m), Ferchensee (1080m), Elmau (1000m) and Wamberg

Tour route: Ehrwald - Leutasch - Mittenwald - Elmau - Garmisch Partenkirchen - Eibsee - Ehrwald
